The COLORBERRY RESIN is a two-component resin (epoxy resin) which, after mixing, becomes a hard and vitreous lacquer coating. Thanks to its chemical properties, the COASTER RESIN has the optimum conditions for a heat-resistant surface of up to 90 ° C. The resin can be poured up to 1 cm (silicone mold) or used as a clear coating. U can pour also artworks and color your resin with the pigment pastes or dry pigments. Subsequently, the hardened resin should be tempered (constant heat of 45 ° C / 3-4 hours) by means of a heat lamp or an incubator.

What does "tempering" mean and how can I implement this at home?
The term TEMPERN generally describes the heating of a material over an extended period of time. This results in the COLORBERRY COASTER RESIN in a higher degree of crosslinking in the polymer framework and thus the annealed COASTER RESIN is less sensitive to heat (up to 90 ° C) and more scratch-resistant.
Important rules for tempering: 1) The temperature of 40-50 ° C should be reached slowly increasing. Likewise the cooling (avoid "shock" temperatures) 2) Do not heat above 50 ° C, as gases can escape at higher temperatures 3) Duation: 3-4 hours
How can I implement this at home? 1) heat lamp (3-4 hours) 2) incubator (3-4 hours) 3) Allow the article to cure well (2-3 days)
CAUTION: The COLORBERRY COASTER RESIN turns into a brittle condition after hardening, so it can come to the artwork and the mixing cups, etc. to sharp resin edges. Likewise, the cured material is more brittle due to the low layer thicknesses on the cup wall compared to less thermally stable systems.Certified to ASTM D-4236.
